Urban Fabrick, Inc., a sustainability consulting and communications company, is pleased to announce that Sustainability Associate Allan Robles has recently passed his BREEAM USA In-Use Assessor exam and is now licensed to certify buildings to the standard.
This new accreditation is one of the first of its kind for the American sustainability and built environment community. To become a BREEAM USA In-Use Assessor, Allan underwent a two-day intensive training course led by BREEAM USA covering the program’s international history and the Technical Manual for the U.S. market. As an Assessor, Allan and Urban Fabrick., Inc. can consult and assess assets that have made significant strides in measuring and reducing the environmental impacts in existing buildings in three areas:
- Asset Performance – the physical attributes of an existing building
- Building Management – the overall maintenance for the asset as a whole
- Occupier Management – the everyday human decisions in an existing building or space within an existing building
A highly flexible system, the research-based BREEAM USA In-Use rating process is able to acknowledge and commend all types of existing building assets against a highly reputable and proven international benchmark of environmental performance. Entire buildings and tenant occupied spaces can now join the 2.2 million (and growing) buildings across the world that have registered and/or certified with BREEAM.
Urban Fabrick will release additional resources in the coming months to provide clarity and high level guidance on the BREEAM USA In-Use Program. To learn more, please contact Urban Fabrick or visit www.breeamusa.com.
